![]() ![]() Each time you use this ability, you take 1 point of Constitution damage. Granted each of their characters has gotten some homerule love. I'm also trying to limit the amount of messing with classes so that I don't irritate my other players by being too permissive with the new girl. I could also just refluff the warlock to be bound to a positive entity. This means that with with warlock she could only really play CG, though I could just say forget alignment restrictions of the Warlock and then It would work. She wants to be an "Innocent character" which is part of the reason I originally found the Enlightened Spirit. I also wanted to try and avoid artificially implanting more complexity into the build which messing with essentia and chakra binds and everything that the Incarnate entails will do. While I am normally very fluid with alignments (I allow Paladin's pretty free reign) Alignment is very much built into the mechanics. Incarnate is a bit odd, but it can do skill stuff about as well as a rogue and other things besides.I'm avoiding Incarnate for one reason. You could also just replace those rogue levels with Incarnate levels, since you're willing to allow Strongheart Vest to negate the damage. One of the lesser invocations is almost always spent on Fell Flight anyway which you won't need due to Celestial Flight, so it's basically a net gain of one greater invocation. Instead of the normal three least, three lesser, three greater, and three dark it will be three least, two lesser, four greater, and three dark. Due to gaining a greater invocation there, your Warlock 10 invocation can also be Greater even though you normally wouldn't get access to those until Warlock 11. The class is unplayable in a normal game, but it's actually the best thing to use for a dedicated Warlock gestalt build.Īt 10th level the bonus shape invocation from Enlightened Spirit should be Eldritch Cone. Enlightened Spirit adds bonus EB damage without increasing the caster level or effective Warlock level, and it grants unique invocations completely separate from the Warlock progression. Warlock advances its own progression for base EB damage and evocations, including caster level. Endure Exposure and Scalding Dust would be perfect.Įnlightened Spirit stacks 100% with Warlock on a gestalt character. Maybe throw in Dragonfire Adept 5 at the beginning with Entangling Exhalation, so she can do a close area effect of fire damage that effectively ignites enemies for several rounds, or a long range fire attack with the Brimstone Eldritch Spear. Start with Eldritch Spear, Spiderwalk, one more least invocation, and Brimstone Blast.įor that other class I'd normally say to use Mystic Ranger with the Wild Shape ACF, mostly for versatility, but that may be a bit complicated for a new player. Any advice would be welcome.įor a new player, go with an extremely simple class build, for example: Really to be honest most of the skill in optimizing that I have gained in the last little bit has been psionic so this is a little new. I have a spell selection done up but don't think it is all that optimized so any suggestions would be nice. Dragonblood sorcerer is for Charm Person to qualify for Mindbender. To that effect I am using the Soulborn fix with Strongheart Vest shaped to avoid Con Damage (I realize this is not RAI and may not be RAW but I am the DM and am allowing it.). I am working her towards Hellfire Warlock for ultimate fire craziness. Warlock 5/ Mindbender 1//Dragonblood Sorcerer 1/ Soulborn 1/ Fighter 2/ Enlightened Spirit 1/Rogue 1 The rest of the players at my table are decently optimized so I was putting her together a capable build (I hope) All I need is someone to let me know if I missed anything obvious. Now short of sending her into a full casting class I thought that warlock would fit this theme better. She said she wanted to be a flame thrower. So I am running a game and have a VERY new player and I'm putting a build together for her. ![]()
